Psalm 23: Learning to Trust the Good Shepherd
How Jesus is our good shepherd? What benefits do we experience as his sheep? What does it mean to be a shepherd, and how does allowing Jesus to lead us to change our confidence in life?
These are the questions we will attempt to explore today in the last episode of our confidence series!
When we misplace our needs on humans, we will be disappointed, frustrated, anxious, and unfulfilled. The reason is that ONLY ONE DIVINE PERSON can provide for all we need, so we lack nothing. That person is Jesus. This leads us to our focus passage for today.
Psalm 23
1 The Lord is my shepherd;I shall not [a]want.
2 He makes me to lie down in [b]green pastures;He leads me beside the [c]still waters.
3 He restores my soul;He leads me in the paths of righteousnessFor His name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,I will fear no evil;For You are with me;Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;You anoint my head with oil;My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow meAll the days of my life;And I will [d]dwell in the house of the Lord[e]Forever.

Maybe you have never known Jesus as your Good Shepherd. Maybe you have heard of this passage, but having the assurance in your heart is still shaky. We all have moments of uncertainty, but the Lord promises to care for his people. Today is a good day to surrender your life to the GOOD SHEPHERD.
